Introductions

Who are we?

This blog is going to be written by two very different yet quite similar people.
Currently writing is Geo, me, the Korean guy who just wants to live the laziest life possible. Studying/ed mechanical engineering at Leeds University, just because I like cars. Let's see.....life goals would be.......living the most mundane life of an office worker with stable pay. So that's me.

Let me introduce the second half of the word 'we'.
Her name is Ksenia, proudly born in St Petersburg Russia.  She probably wants to live a lovey dovey, warm family life, but I'm sure deep down the lazy life is existent within her too. Studying/ed biology at Manchester University, which is nice. Yay plants. Life goals would probably be pretty similar to me, or so I hope.

So that's a brief introduction of us and who we are at this point of our lives.

How do we plan to go about this blog?

We both access to this blog so we plan on just putting our initials at the end of each post.
If I'm writing it'd be -GK, if Ksen is writing it'd be -KK.

We decided to make this blog in the first place because we just wanted to save and remember all the things that we do together or alone just for the fun-sies. Usually it'd be like a few images and comments. So the blog will be pretty "chill".

Enjoy all the posts we post, comment if you dare.

A Weekend Trip to Stuttgart! Part 2

Oh, We're Going on the Plane Today?

Due to the nature of a weekend trip, we packed our bags the following Sunday for the airport.

Don't get me wrong, we had a full day ahead of us, just we had to go straight to airport from our final destination *queue the dramatic music*

Activity Numero Uno: Ritter Sport Museum
The Inside is SO much better than the outside
The museum I'd say was a bit disappointing. Not much to do, not much to see.

But the museum is linked straight to a forest which wasn't too shabby with it being fall and all.

And even more pictures *BAAM*

*whisper* Someone's getting too comfortable infront of the camera *whisper*

The plan was basically to spend the rest of the day where the chocolate factory was and that's exactly what we did. Cause plans are meant to followed if Ksenia makes them cause she get's stressed if plans don't work out.

Whilst walking around town, we saw one of those big chess board on the ground. Which we decided to take up on.

Short story shorter, I demolished Ksen in chess mehehehe (Ksen will add her defeated picture here)
...I suck at chess okay? -KK

At around five we headed for the airport and hopped onto the flight back to Heathrow.

To those of you who thought this was the end it wasn't.

It took us another 2.5 hours to get to Ksenia's house and at this exact moment, I realized I'd rather spend some money and take a cab to the airport.
#IdRatherSpendMoneyThanBeOnTheUndergroundfor2hours

A somewhat rushed ending a somewhat rushed holiday.

All in all, it was a tiring and exciting trip that neither Ksenia nor I regret going.

A Weekend Trip to Stuttgart! Part 1

We Can Totally Afford This Right?....Right?

With both of us technically getting a monthly salary (amongst other reasons) , we decided to take a weekend trip to Stuttgart.

As I live a "casual" 2 hour drive away, after finishing work on Friday I drove to Ksen's place our main port of action. We had a pretty chill evening as we had a flight to catch at 7 in the morning.

Next morning with about 4.5 hours of sleep we head out to Heathrow Airport terminal 5 to catch our flight to Stuttgart.
Sleep Deprived and Excited
Once we arrived we were greeted by Ksen's grandma with open arms right at the arrival hall.
We were given mini-kiwis amongst so many other things
Our first stop in Germany.....*drum roll*..... Stadtbibliothek Stuttgart.
It looks a something like this.....
Don't need to read books to realize that's a lot of books

As I don't read German (or English) books, we basically went "Woah, a fancy library.....food?"

And straight to Ksen's favorite Chinese buffet we went~
Anyone who knows us should know, there is no time to take pictures of food.

Dragging our full selves to the city, we headed for the Mercedes-Benz Museum.
Without a doubt there were a lot of stunning cars and they all looked better than blue....

Dis is blue....
But more than that I like to see this place as....how should I put this... where Ksenia starts her modeling career!
So Class, Many Wow
To top this effectively planned day all off, we headed into city centre and ate more food....
And someone got a nose bleed at the restaurant. (I'm not pointing fingers...but it wasn't me)
Appetizer (2 Slices were already gone)
We weren't as hungry apparently...we got an untouched picture
Like the thrill seeking 20-something year olds we are we headed home right after food to look at old pictures in Ksen's family album.

An 18 hour day filled with activities, we got into bed to get ready for the up coming day.

Nostalgia

Time passes a lot quicker than it seems and it is already the end of November. Geo and I have settled into the working life and are seeing each other every two weeks (still a lot of miles for the black box cries...). I started watching a lot more Korean Dramas and can now add Goblin to my watched list (4th one now with Pinocchio, Korean Odyssey and Descendants of the Sun).

Tonight I felt a bit nostalgic (maybe because the episode was sad) so I decided to flick through our blog. It crazy how time has passed and looking back at our first posts brought a smile to my face. Geo was amazed as well, and agreed that we should try to post more often, as it is really nice to look back.
I don't know to what extend we will manage to keep it up but at least the trips will remain.

This post I want to dedicate to random photos, memories and so on, just some things we didn't post about.

For one, while it was still warm in the summer and beginning of autumn and we weren't the sloths we are now, we went around the area a lot exploring the new surroundings:

When we went to the Paradise Wildlife Park, Geo let me use his camera which was really fun. The drive there and back was quite stressful as for some strange reason some country roads only have one lane even though traffic goes both ways, but Geo manages well. We also has some fun feeding Parakeets but I won't duplicate Insta photos.
Nice selfie before the zoo, to which we accidentally arrived half an hour early...whoops, but hey - never been the first person in a zoo before! It was kind of cool actually because we managed to look at a lot of animals before the crowds began.

This summer in the UK has been extremely warm and while my studio is amazing it really heated up during those days, so with no a.c. Geo found the coolest place in the house, and that is where he remained.
Found some mini golf  in the city near by (because mine doesn't have anything) even though I did dragged Geo to a climbing range, which in contrast to mini gold he did not enjoy at all, but being nice as he is completed with me.

Another major first not to forget was our first annual pass. We got loured in by the offer and bought an annual pass to a theme park which is only an hour away from my house and the biggest one in the UK. We have been twice so far, and will go again when it is warmer. Roller coasters are awesome, but it seems we aren't too good with scary things.. (Side note - don't go on a water ride when it's cold just because the queue is short....)

Road Trip for my Mum's birthday

Geo and I are already a few months into placement, and while working life is tired we seem to be both enjoying our jobs. Training is over and the real thing has begun! No idea how we will go back to studying and uni life but that is still a while away.

Last week my parents have come to visit me and to see London. During their last weekend here and for my mother's birthday, Geo and I decided to take them on a three day road trip around South England.

Day 1
Our first stop was Milton Keynes, mainly to visit my dad's Open University so that he could see the place that he received his degree from. It was interesting to see a different type of campus and my dad's excitement was definitely worth it!

From there we drove to Bletchley Park, a World War II territory, most known for code breaking and the place where Alan Turing and his team broke the German Enigma code. My research had failed me with this one, as I just expected it to be a house in a park that we could quickly see, but ended up being a massive territory with many small museums inside it. We ended up spending longer than planned but worked our way through it quite quickly as everyone was craving lunch.

1.5 chickens and a massive sandwich later we continued our journey and arrived in Stratford Upon Avon, Shakespeare's birthplace. Unfortunately, by the time we arrived the house itself was closed, but we had a lovely walk around the town and looked at the sights from afar.

Our day finished with another drive, which took us to a beautiful hotel in the countryside. Billesley Manor Hotel, was hosting a wedding that same evening, so while our dinner was a bit prolonged, it gave the hotel another flair and some pretty groovy songs to vibrate our guestroom walls.

Day 2
The second day started with an extensive photos shoot on the ground of the hotel, making use of its beautiful facade, garden and abstract hedge art. This was followed by my mum opening her birthday presents and some time to explore them.

From there we drove to Blenheim Palace only to discover it was closed... for a private wedding of the Lord's son. It was bold on the website... once again my research had failed me... (a pattern is emerging isn't it) on the bright side, on the way there we had discovered a wonderful pub and stopped there for lunch.

Next stop was Oxford, where we wandered the streets, enjoying the feel of the town and the beautiful and extraordinary campus of the University of Oxford.

Lastly, we finished the evening off with a tasty dinner and some Gin and tonics/lemonades by the hotel.

Day 3
The last day had the most touristy programme as we spend the morning in Blenheim Palace (home of Churchill and his family) and the afternoon at Windsor Castle (main residence of the Queen and her family). Both were fascinating in their own way, and I couldn't say which one I enjoyed more.

Geo drove us back to Welwyn, where we had dinner (sooo much foood) and finally let Geo go home, ready for work Monday morning. (Thank you for driving us! I hope you enjoyed yourself too!)

Pictures from my DSLR

I thought that if I add them to the days they might get missed, so I thought I'll add them here. I'm not very good at pictures, and Geo's are generally better, so I will just add ones not represented by Geo's yet!
